Hockey - Program Summary
This program is open to
children who have successfully mastered basic skating skills. All sessions are held at the Cranston Veterans
Memorial Ice Rink in Cranston, RI. Instruction is focused on learning fundamental hockey
skills through various drills and exercises. Skaters are
introduced to all of the basic concepts needed prior to game play.
All skaters are dressed in full hockey equipment. As skaters progress they will
begin to play small area games. The primary objective of the program is to teach;
- Basic puck handling and control
- Skating and puck carrying skills
- Edge control, hockey starts and stops
- Basic passing and shooting techniques
